Carob latte - My Coffee Alternative

Recently, I have been playing around with drink alternatives to coffee. This won’t go without saying I am a huge coffee lover, so it has not been easy. But I chose to go sober for a few months because I started feeling like the coffee was fueling the fire.

So, my caffeine-free treat has been carob. I got introduced to carob in Istanbul as there is a natural abundance of it there. I remember trying this thinking it would be a regular chocolate bar but turned out I was in for a surprise.

Carob latte recipe:

  • 1 heaping tbsp carob powder

  • 250 ml hazelnut milk (or any milk of choice)

  • Chaga powder or drops (for extra vitality)

  • Any spices of choice like cinnamon, clove, vanilla (I like mine plain)

Blend it all together and that's it!

I have been playing around with freezing my leftover cold brew teas, so the one in the photo above is with soba-cha ice cubes and it was very good. :-)
